Specifier: Hydro Consulting
As part of the Victorian Regional Rail Link project the Footscray, West Footscray & Sunshine stations all underwent major upgrades completed by the Footscray-Deer Park alliance. The major infrastructure project focusing on increasing metropolitan and regional rail capacity. With the increased capacity for commuters to travel through these stations, passenger safety and accessibility were key design considerations.
Hydro Construction Products’ Solution LZ1000/60 with Heelguard grates were specified as linear drainage solutions for the station platforms, forecourts and overpasses. Given the shallow 60mm depth of the channel, the MEA Solution LZ1000/60 distributed by Hydro, ensured a linear drain was able to be installed where varying depth restrictions existed.
Combined with Hydro’s new range of slip-resistant ductile iron heelguard grates, an appealing aesthetic was able to be created while addressing pedestrian safety concerns.
