Acoustic curtains are a durable and effective noise dampening system. Our UV resistant acoustic curtains provide an excellent noise barrier on construction sites and in other noisy work areas.

Q: What are Acoustic curtains?
Acoustic Curtains are a sound absorption product designed to reduce the sound levels omitting from site or a specific area. They are made from a vinyl sheet at the front then a foam, sound absorption cushion placed behind the vinyl and held together with a PVC mesh to contain the foam cushion inside the curtain. Each curtain has eyelets punched into the top and bottom of the panel and velcro strips either side of the curtain to allow attaching of curtains either side.
Q: When and how do I use acoustic curtains?
Acoustic Curtains are mainly used when high levels of sound is being emitted near high pedestrian or residential areas. They are used to reduce the noise to a more manageable level.
Q: What dB noise reduction do these curtains achieve?
While it varies from job to job, our acoustic curtains achieve an 80% NRC rating and absorbs up to 24dB. We do however have test reports which we can supply to accurately determine the sound reduction performance for your site.
Q: How far away from the source of the sound should these be placed?
The panels should be placed as close as possible to the source of the sound to be able to effectively reduce the sound being emitted. If placed too far away this runs the risk of the sound being able to escape over the top of the panel and would limit the effectiveness.
Q: What happens to the noise when it hits the curtain?
These curtains are classed as noise absorption curtains, so the sound is absorbed by the foam cushion inside the panel. There are some curtains on the market that also redirect the sound back into the site rather than absorbing the sound.
Q: Are these curtains waterproof?
Yes, the PVC backing on the panel has a waterproof coating to allow rain to run off the panel.
Q: How can we attach them?
Installation of the panels is quite easy. There are 4 eyelets at the top of the panel and two at the bottom to easily tie them back to temporary or permanent fencing or can be easily screwed back to a timber hoarding. There are also Velcro strips down each side to connect each panel to the next. It is recommended that the back of the curtains is facing the site or source of the sound to be effective.
Q: How heavy is each curtain?
Each curtain weighs approximately 7.5kg.
Q: Can we get them custom made?
Yes, we can custom make these to whatever size you require and can also custom print your logo and your choice of colour on the vinyl.
